On behalf of the Media Center of the Technical University in Dresden we invite you to utilize MOVING MOOC platform dedicated to young academics and learning how to use the Web 2.0 technologies

Platform MOVING MOOC platform learning how to use the Web 2.0 technologies to search, access and use information, to organize knowledge, develop new ideas, build networks with other scholars, public institutions and society. Learners will understand the principles of open science and how they can contribute to a culture of openness in their everyday research life.

The course is addressing young scholars - PhDs, Post-docs and students at an advanced level (graduate students) - from all disciplines that want to learn in collaboration with others about the benefits of Web 2.0 technologies and principles of openness for scientific research and academic practice.

The MOVING MOOC (MOOC - Massive Open Online Course) teaches:

  • understand the concepts of Science 2.0 and Open Science.
  • develop creative and flexible strategies on how and where to find information using the internet and Web 2.0 technologies and will be able to critically evaluate and effectively manage this information.
  • to use Web 2.0 technologies (e.g. blogs, social network sites, wikis, microblogs, and social media) to share information and content with others
  • rules of copyright and Creative Commons licensing as appropriate for the creation of original and repurposed content.

Course schedule:

  • Week 1. Introduction to Science 2.0 and open research methods
  • Week 2. Understand the Web 2.0 information landscape
  • Week 3. Become an active voice in the conversation with web 2.0 technologies
  • Week 4. Make your research open!
