Programmes of the Foundation:

  • Advancement of Science - the Foundation supports applied research at the Cracow´s scientific institutions by providing the best graduate and doctoral students with scholarships (two per year), organising scientific conferences, and promoting scientific exchange.
  • Central European Capital Market Analyses - focused on the Polish equity market the Foundation´s Research Institute performs market, sectors, and companies fundamental analyses, as well as market´s technical forecasts for domestic and foreign investors. A novel market analysis methodology, designed especially for the expanding emerging markets has been elaborated at the Foundation.
  • Education in Banking and Finance. The Foundation initiated a two-semester study in Financial Engineering, which is equivalent of an MBA in Finance of leading MBA granting institutions. All lecturers are well-known Polish and international experts, both academic and practitioners in banking and finance. Students are mainly banks employees and industrial companies financial officers.
  • University-Industry Co-operation - creation of sustainable links between universities and industry through practical projects on education, new technology commercialisation, technology transfer, and information services, directed especially to small and medium high-tech enterprises from the Southern Macroregion of Poland.
  • Restructuring and Industrial Development - to develop medium to long term consulting activities in industrial areas focused on consolidation of existing markets, market analyses, business and master plans, technical and economical consulting, market forecasting, analyses for privatisation of industrial units, and other related activities. Our main area of expertise is the energy, chemical and refinery industry, as well as the information technology sector, focused on the needs of SME´s. Our industrial consulting group employs over 70 top experts of different specialities.
  • Clean technologies. Originated in 1991 within the Restructuring and Environmental Protection Programme, it has grown up rapidly, becoming an independent programme in late 1996. It focuses on promoting environment friendly technologies in Polish enterprises as a vehicle for restructuring and market development. Most activities of this programme are carried out as part of industrial consulting activities.
  • Economic Information Centre - development of partnership building capacity among all those with a stake in specific economic restructuring projects, collection and exchange of information. Until 1997 this activity had been performed within the Institutions for Development programme. Then, from September 1997 to September 1998 it has been supported by the Polish Foundation for the Promotion and Development of SME within the Phare programme STEP I, PL9511-02-02-75. Now this programme belongs to the commercial activities of the Foundation.
  • Investment Opportunities in Poland - the Foundation maintains a list of companies from Southern Poland wishing to find a foreign capital partner, as well we offer our services in plant location analysis, market research, and in finding opportunities in portfolio investment.
  • Educational Advising Centre - information about professional and language courses for managers in co-operating Polish and foreign educational institutions, as well as about scholarships and fellowships tenable at Polish and foreign universities and research institutions, from the undergraduate to the postdoctoral level. The mainstream of EAC activities in the period 1999-2000 focuses on the realisation of the Leonardo da Vinci placement programmes. Over 100 young employees from the Cracow region will be placed for a six or three months professional and language training in different European Union countries, mainly in Ireland and Great Britain. The Foundation performs also business activities mainly in the area of technological consulting, economical, technical and legal analyses. All profits from these activities are devoted to performing the statutory non-profit programmes.
