  • May 2004 – January 2005 (pending): Impact of REACH on New Member Countries, an ESTO Study performed by a consortium led by Fraunhofer Gesellschaft, Germany, focused on specialty chemicals sector.
  • May 2004: Organisation of the DG JRC Info Day in Kraków (May 27). This highly successful event, gathering over 100 scientists, educators, students and industry representatives has been organised jointly with the AGH University of Science and Technology, National Contact Point of European Programmes, and DG JRC.
  • February 2004 – November 2004 (pending): Launching an Educational Scientific Journey on Natural Hazards and Disasters - Exploring Today’s Achievements, Future Challenges & Expectations with Respect to Forecast, Prevention and Mitigation (SHIELD), 6th FP Specific Support Action Project, Contract no.: 509029. Together with other consortium partners consisting of the Aristotle University, Thessaloniki, Greece, Hacettepe University, Ankara, Turkey, Knowlton&Hill, Tallinn, Estonia and Q-Plan, Athens, Greece, the P&BF is ranking European research projects on natural hazards prevention and mitigation and preparing a scientific exhibition for the European Science Week in November 2004.
  • January 2004 – December 2005 (pending): Thematic Network on Foresight on Information Society Technologies in the European Research Area FISTERA, the 5th FP project coordinated by the DG JRC – IPTS Seville. The P&BF has been admitted as the only member organisation from Poland. Among the other activities, Polish FISTERA Roadshow Workshop has been organised by the P&BF on May 27 in Cracow.
  • January 2004 – December 2005 (pending): CRESCENDO Thematic Network; coordinated by the CMI Cardiff. The P&BF, together with other 15 members of the Network is taking part in elaborating an optimal model for the European Venture Capital financing of innovations in SMEs.
  • December 2003 – June 2004: Research Investment Policy Watch (RIPWATCH), the P&BF provided an expert to be a member of an ESTO senior experts group, consisting of five outstanding European specialists, which jointly worked on evaluation of fulfilling the Lisbon and Barcelona targets by the ERA member countries. Client: European Commission, DG Research.
  • May, 2003 : agricultural policy-related program on “Structural reform and competitive Candidate Countries (CC) Agriculture in an enlarged Europe. A Prospective Analysis”. carried out by the ESTO consortium with the TNO-STB acting as the Operating Agent.
  • February – May 2003 : Evaluation of the utility and impact of S&T Research Mapping: Support Action to the Directorate DG Research B “Open Co-ordination of Research Policies” by JRC/IPTS & ESTO, coverage: Finland, Lithuania, Poland.
  • April 2003 : “Practical Solutions for the Energy Debts Issues”, Project No PTP#121-TC02-010 within the Strategic Technical Assistance for Results with Training (START), of USAID and the Academy of Educational Development (AED). A 7-day Study Tour for 10 Ukrainian Members of Parliament and Representatives of ministries and other governmental Ukrainian institutions.
  • December 2002 – November 2005 (pending) : ICT and SME : A Leonardo da Vinci Reference Material project on e-learning applications in SMEs coordinated by the TheKnowNet Ltd., Bangor, UK.
  • November 2002 : Civil Action Groups – Practical and Operational Training within the Global Training for Development Program of USAID and the Academy of Educational Development (AED); a 14-day Study Tour for 12 Armenian local government officials and NGO activists, held in held in Southern Poland and Warsaw, Project No. PTP #121-TC02-042.
  • October – December 2002 : ESTO Fast Track Study on “Waste Streams and Flows in Candidate Countries”, report prepared for the European Commission – Directorate-General : DG ENV 02 (Coopération environnementale avec les pays tiers européens) + DG ENV A.2 (Utilisation durable des ressources).
  • October 2002 : ESTO Fast Track Study on the "Training Needs in Foresight in the EU Candidate Countries", report concerning Poland prepared for DG JRC, Enlargement Futures Project.
  • October 2002 : Sustainable Development Study Tour – a 11–day training programme for 16 Ukrainian local and central government officials, media and NGO representatives held in Southern Poland and Warsaw, Project No. PTP #121-TC02-003 within the Strategic Technical Assistance for Results with Training (START) of the Academy of Educational Development (AED) financed by USAID.
  • July 2002 – December 2003 (pending): Innovations and New Technologies for the Enterprise Development - a Phare 2002 Project, budget line Pl0003.07-05.2. Technology Transfer and IT Consulting subprojects for 8 selected SMEs financed by Phare (60%) and the SMEs (40%).
  • May - November 2002 : ESTO study on “The Perspectives of Bio-Fuels Production and Capacity in Poland”; report prepared for ther European Commission, DG Transport.
  • January – July 2002 : Modern Methods of Planning and Budgeting for Local Government – a training and advisory programme for Ukrainian local government institutions supported by Freedom House (Washington D.C.) under the Grant Agreement No. PAUCI-01-0270-054 within the Poland-America-Ukraine Cooperation Initiative financed by the USAID.
  • October 2001 – June 2002 : Entrepreneurship Support Program for Students and Young Graduates from the Małopolska Region; a training and consulting project supported by the Polish Entrepreneurship Development Agency under grant No. RP-PL/81, a continuation during the period of October 1, 2002 – September 30, 2003 is financed .

  • March 2001 : Free Trade Unions Operation Training, Project No. PTP#121TC00019 within the Global Training for Development Program of the USAID and the Academy of Educational Development (AED); a 6-day Study Tour for 8 Ukrainian Free Trade Union leaders held in Gdańsk, Warsaw, and Kraków.
  • January 2001 : Involving Citizens in Governance, Project No. PTP #121TC00-010 within the Global Training for Development Program of the Academy of Educational Development (AED) financed by USAID; a 9-day Study Tour for 10 Ukrainian elected officials held in Southern Poland and Warsaw.
  • July - December 2000 : The Foundation became the Centre of Advanced Consulting, the only one in the Małopolska Voivodship, as a result of a won tender within the pilot programme of SME Support of the Polish Ministry of Economy; project co-ordinated by the Polish SME Foundation.
  • July 2000 : Liquidation - A Tool for Creating Viable Enterprises and More Productive Use of Economic Resources, Project No. PTP# 111-TC00-006 within the Global Training for Development Program of the Academy of Educational Development (AED) financed by USAID; a 10-day Study Tour for 12 high-rank Armenian government officials held in Poland and in Germany.
  • April 2000 : Basic and Intermediate Training in Business Management, Project No. PTP# 114-TC99018 within the Global Training for Development Program of the Academy of Educational Development (AED) financed by USAID; a three-week Course and Study Tour for 14 Georgian Businesspeople held in Poland.
  • January 2000 - present : EXPROM II - A Phare financed programme supporting the export capabilities of Polish enterprises from six key export sectors. An SME targeted programme carried out on the order of Polish SME Foundation and Danish Institute of Technology, Taastrup.
  • May 1999 - present : Preparatory Study and Pilot Implementation of Centres of Excellence, Phare SCI-TECH II PL9611/03.01 : Consultancy for Polish Government concerning the establishment of 3 to 5 Centres of Excellence in applied research; joint project of the Phare consortium with SQW Ltd., Cambridge, HCG Helsinki, and Promasz, Warsaw.
  • May - June 1999 : Public Private Partnership programme : training and conference project for Polish gminas concerning outsourcing of municipal services and energy supply within the Local Government Partnership Program (LGPP), on the order of Chemonics Inc., financed by USAID.
  • December 1998 - June 2000: Leonardo da Vinci Internship programme for 65 young employees from the Cracow region; 6-month professional internships in the Republic of Ireland and Great Britain, Project No. LdV 0050, second edition (LdV 0112) for 72 young people started in January 2000.
