The 8th International Conference on Knowledge Information and Creativity Support Systems KICSS’2013on 7-9 November 2013, Poland, Kraków & Wieliczka

The International Center for Decision Science and Forecasting of the Progress & Business Foundation was the organizer of the 8th International Conference on Knowledge Information and Creativity Support Systems KICSS’2013. The conference was held the first time in Europe, Poland (Kraków and Wieliczka) on 7-9 November 2013 and covered all aspects of knowledge management, knowledge engineering, intelligent information systems and creativity in an information technology context, including computational creativity and its cognitive and collaborative aspects

Previous KICSS conferences were held among others in Melbourne (Monash University, 2012), Beijing (Chinese Academy of Science, 2011), and Chiang Mai (Thammassat University, 2010).

The KICSS’2013 conference was organized in cooperation with the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST) and AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow, and with the support of the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education. Co-chairs of the KICSS'2013 Program Committee were Prof. Andrzej M. J. Skulimowski (AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow and Progress & Business Foundation) and Prof. Susumu Kunifuji - Vice President of JAIST (Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology).

Granting Progress & Business Foundation organization of the KICSS conference was recognition of the achievements of Cracow’s scholars in the field of research on the decision-making, creativity and artificial intelligence.

The honorary patronage of the KICSS'2013 conference took, among others: Marshal of the Malopolska Mr Marek Sowa, president of the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development Mrs. Bożena Lublińska-Kasprzak and Mayor of Wieliczka Mr. Artur Kozioł. During the conference were presented more than 60 papers. Scientists from 20 countries around the world shared the results of their research, ideas and practical experience in the field of knowledge engineering, decision support systems and creativity, in the context of information technology
